Gibson, Contract Specialist (919)541-4556 E-MAIL: Click here to contact
the Contract Specialist via e-mail., gibson.karen@epamail.epa.gov. The
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, National Exposure Research
Laboratory, Ecosystems Research Division located in Athens, GA has a
requirement for sediment and aquifer samples to be collected and
characterized with respect to their redox conditions. The goal of this
project is to develop predictive models for the reductive
transformation of organic chemicals and the speciation of the metals in
anoxic systems. The pore waters of these materials will be analzyed for
key redox indicators including terminal electron acceptors and
dissolved organic matter (DOM). Solids materials will be analyzed for
the reactive forms of Fe(II) and Fe(III). The results of these studies
will be correlated with reaction rates measured by EPA for the
reductive transformation of a series of probe chemicals in duplicate
sediment and aquifer samples. It is anticipated that the solicitation
will be issued on or around October 21, 1997 and that quotations will
be expected 15 days after issuance. This RFQ will be carried out under
the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The period of performance shall
be 12 months from the date of award. All interested parties may obtain
a copy of the solicitation by submitting a request. No telephonic
requests will be honored. (0279) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0001 19971008\A-0001.SOL)
