Caracciolo, Contracting Officer, Code 02631, 703-602-0952 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has a requirement for continued research and development (Phase 3) of Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) technology. This solicitation will be negotiated on a sole source basis with Hughes Aircraft Company (formerly Alliant Techsystems) of Mukilteo, Washington who began the development of this technology under contract N00014-95-C-0022 and is the only source with the requisite knowledge and background to complete the effort in the time frame required.
