965-9495 The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate
with The International Social Security Association/International Labor
Office (ISSA/ILO) Washington office on a sole-source bases to conduct
a symposium in conjunction with phase one of a two part 8-country
research project on return to work for workers who develop a chronic
condition or become disabled. The symposium is scheduled for May 20
through May 22, 1998 in Washington DC. The contractor will provide the
coordination necessary to deal with both the substantive programmatic
issues of the symposium as well as the logistical/practical concerns
of organizing a symposium. All responses must be received by close of
business day November 19, 1997. All responses from responsible sources
will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this
synopsis of intent, the contracting officer may determine that a
solicitation will be issued. Any such solicitation will be issued to
the intended vendor and all firms that response to this synopsis of
intent or otherwise request a copy of the solicitation. If no
affirmative written responses, to the effect that a comparable source
exists, are received by the above stated due date, an order will be
negotiated with ISSA/ILO for the requirement stated above. The
Government does not intend to pay for information provided. No cost or
pricing data is required or requested. Acknowledgement of receipt will
not be issued, nor will respondents be notified of the results of the
