Smiley, Contracting Officer, (423) 461-7986 The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) invites public/private energy developers/operators (including DOE-qualified ESCO's to an industry forum at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center at Mountain Home (Johnson City), Tennessee, 37684. The forum will be conducted in Building 17 at 10:00 a.m. (local time) on October 22, 1997. The purpose of the forum will be to discuss and receive public/private sector input on the financing and development aspects of the VA's plans lease certain lands, through the Enhanced-Use leasing authority, for the purpose of financing, developing, managing and operating an energy center (co-generation, if such results in the lowest cost to VA) that would produce and sell any or all utilities (electricity, steam and chilled water) to the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center; East Tennessee State University's James H. Quillen College of Medicine; and at the developer/operator's option, to other public or private users. Energy savings opportunities, through the Energy Savings Performance Contracting Authority, will also be a part of the discussion.
