This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, no written solicitation will be issued. The United States Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT 06320 has a requirement for the acquisition of six (6) "Fenders, Marine, Foam-Filled, Netless". Fenders shall be manufactured in accordance with MIL-F-29248(4D) no other versions apply and can be obtained by requesting a copy from this office via FAX (860) 444-8299. Size and performance data is as follows: a.) Diameter 4.0 ft.; b.) Length Overall 20.0 ft.; c.) Minimum Mid Body Length 16.7 ft.; d.) Minimum Skin Thickness 1.25 in.; e.) Minimum End Fitting Shackle Size 1.50 in.; f.) Minimum Energy Absorption Capacity 260 ft-kips.; and g.) Maximum Reaction Force 240 kips. First article testing for inspection and approval is not required. The optional test listed in MIL-F-29248(4D) is not required. Level of packing is "Standard per industry practices. Shipping is identified as Freight on Board (FOB) "Destination". The delivery date shall be 60 days from award. Award will be based on lowest cost. Bids are due on 24 OCT 97 in this office by 2:00 P.M. (Local time). The contract vehicle will be a Firm Fixed Price contract in accordance with Federal Acquistion Requlation 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items (JUN 1997), 52.212-3 Offeror Representative and Certifications-Commercial Items (JAN 1997), 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items (MAY 1997) and 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders-Commercial Items (AUG 1996). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Fereral Acquisition Circular 97-2.
