Command (NAVAIR) intends to contract with General Atomics, Aeronautical
System, Inc. (GA-ASI) of San Diego,CA for the design, development,
integration, test, and demonstration of the following capabilities in
the Predator UAV System: Common Automatic Recovery System, theater
deployable communications, secure voice communications, Air Force
mission support system and Data Exploitation Management Planning Center
(DEMPC) integration, synthetic aperature radar and DEMPC integration,
relief on station, ku-band tuning, reliability and maintainability
improvements study, system accuracy, and nuclear biological chemical
analysis. As the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the
predator uav system, GA-ASI is the only source with the technical
expertise and data to develop and integrate these capabilities for the
