Energy, Idaho Operations Office (DOE-ID) intends to issue a competitive
solicitation to obtain support services to perform industry, market and
R&D data collection and analysis for the Metal Casting Vision of the
Future Program. The selected contractor will analyze information
relating to the U.S. and international metal casting industries and
provide the results of those analyses to the Program. The contractor
will conduct industry analyses to evaluate industry trends, identify
market barriers, assess key challenges facing the industry, and
identify research and technology needs which will enhance industry
competitiveness. The contractor will analyze metal casting data and
information resources and collect information from those resources as
required by the Program. The contractor will be required to collect and
analyze current and detailed information on metal casting RD&D and
provide that information to the program. This is a set-aside for small
business. Theestimated period of performance is from December 1997
through November 30, 2000. The solicitation is expected to be available
on or around October 15, 1997 ands may be viewed and downloaded from
