J -- MENSURATION SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE AND MODIFICATION SOL NMA10097R0022 DUE 102997 POC Vance Cathell, Contracting Officer and Sheila Williams, Purchasing Agent, 301-227-2295 and FAX 301-227-5573 National Imagery & Mapping Agency (NIMA) intends to issue a Sole Source award to RDY. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. The solicitation number is NMA10097R0022. A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. NIMA wishes to procure the following (1) Line item: CLIN 0001 -- preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, routine redesign of system hardware, fabrication of parts, modifications, integration of components, and consultation services as needed. This maintenance will require the contractor to travelto each of the sites and perform the functions required at that location. In addition, the contractor may be required to use his own facilities and specialized alignment tools to effect repairs and calibrations beyond the scope of normal onsite maintenance. Due to the nature of the work, those individuals needing unescorted access to Government facilities shall be required to have a Top Secret Industrial Security Staff Approval (TS/ISSA) along with special compartmented clearances. A TS/ISSA is based upon a full field investigation and a polygraph interview. The polygraph is a condition precedents to the issuance of a TS/ISSA and is treated as an integral part of the Government's investigation. Those individuals under contract needing only limited or no access to Government facilities shall be required to have a Top Secret Industrial Security Approval(TS/ISA) clearance, along with special compartmented clearances. Period of Performance 1 Oct 1997 through 30 Sep 1998. One base year and (4) four options years. Authority for sole-source procurement is 10 USC 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302.1. Responsible sources wo are interested in this procurement may respond by providing clear and convincing information that identifies their capability.
