R -- LOCKBOX OPERATIONS POC Jimmie Curtis,Contract Specialist,410-786-7859 The Health Care Financing Administration(HCFA),Center For Beneficiary Services intends to negoiate on a noncompetitive basis with Mellon Bank of Pittsburgh,Penn. to continue it's Medicare Premium Remittance Lockbox Operation in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Title 31,P.L. 97-258, dated September 3,1982 mandates that any government agency that utilizes the lockbox concept, must place their remittance operation in a depository designated by the Treasury Department.Treasury has designated Mellon Bank as the depository for HCFA. HCFA anticipates a twelve month contract with four option years. This is for informational purposes only and RFP packages will not be available.See Note 22. (0281)
