This public notice is to request suppliers to provide NTT with general referential information on similar products or technology prior to procurement of the intended product (mentioned below) by NTT. This public notice is also to request that any suppliers wishing to participate as a subcontractor in the procurement program of this product should declare their intentions to that effect. This public notice is not intended to guarantee public notification of procurement of the product. (1) Name: Packet Switched Network/Telephone Network Interworking System (2) Overview:Packet Switched Network/Telephone Network Interworking System is composed of following Equipment or Function. (i)Telephone Network Interfacing Equipment or Function The equipment, which is to be connected to the trunk lines of telephone network, shall be provided with functions to select an access line to the equipment per ii) for connection based on calling party information and called party information contents received as signals, and further transmit the calling party and called party information contents and so on to the access line. In addition, the equipment shall be provided with functions to select, for subsequent call origination, a trunk line of telephone network based on the calling party information and called party information received as signals from the equipment per ii). ii)Packet Switched Network Interfacing Equipment or Function The equipment, which is to be connected to packet switched networks, shall be provided with functions to assemble X.25 call request packets based on the calling party information and called party information received from the equipment per i) above, and also assemble non procedure protocol, basic control mode procedure, JUST-PC procedure or other procedure signals into X.25 packet frames. In addition, the equipment shall be provided with functions to select a line for connecting itself with the equipment per i) above based on the signal information of X.25 incoming call packets received from packet switched networks, and also disassemble X.25 packet signals received and transmit their data field information to the equipment per i) above. iii) Monitoring and Control System The system consists of hardware and software products that maintain, operate and manage the equipment per i) and Equipment per ii) above in an efficient manner from a remote location. In addition, the system required in performing full time monitoring of above-mentioned equipments. (3) Contents of RFI: NTT is inviting the following types of information on a product or technology similar to the above-mentioned system. (4) Request for Declaration of the Intention of Participating as a Subcontractor: Any suppliers wishing to participate as a subcontractor in the product procurement program of NTT, are requested to supply NTT with the information listed below. After preparing a list of supplied information, NTT will provide the list to suppliers who wish to be provided with it, to those who have responded to the request for supply of the information listed and to those who have purchased the PROCUREMENT DOCUMENTATION relating to procurement of the product. NTT, however, will undertake no responsibilities for any outcomes arising from supply of the list, (i)Name of supplier, (ii)Place of contact (Address, name of the person in charge, telephone number, and facsimile number).
