COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF OCTOBER 14,1997 PSA#1950Naval Research Laboratory, Attn: Code 3230, 4555 Overlook Avenue, SW,
Washington, DC 20375-5326 A -- SOURCES ARE BEING SOUGHT FOR DETECTOR TECHNOLOGY TO LASER RADAR
POC Code 5630, Raymond Patten E-MAIL: synopsis@contracts.nrl.navy.mil,
synopsis@contracts.nrl.navy.mil. The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL)
is interested in identifying detector technology applicable to laser
radar. NRL is in the process of constructing architectural concepts for
application in Naval Systems. Industrial sources are encouraged to
identify state-of-the-art technology that fulfill mission requirements,
so that future specifications are not limited by low performance
architecture. The mission requirements include an image intensified,
parallel output, anod array sensitive in the spectral range from
visible to 1064 nm. Minimum requirements include at least 10 X 10
array, no more than 1.8 mm anode-to-anode center spacing, form factor
at least 90%, response time no greater than 1.0 nanoseconds,
responsivity of at least 40,000 amps/watt, dark count rate no more than
100/sec/anode, and a gain of at least one million. Respondees should
identify current technology, and improvement requiring modest
investment of R&D. Responses shall include two copies of the requested
information, and are due nolater than 45 days after the issue date of
this synopsis, and should be no longer than 15 pages per copy. NRL
recognizes the need to protect proprietary information. Restricted or
proprietary data must be clearly marked and presented as an addendum to
the non-restricted response to this request. Any and all proprietary
data shall be protected and will not be released without the expressed
approval of the source. This request is for planning purposes and
shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP), an Invitation
for Bids (IFB), or as an obligation on the part of the Government to
acquire any follow on capabilities. The Government does not intend, at
this time, to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information
provided. No entitlement or payment of direct costs or charges by the
Government will arise as a result of submissions of responses. Any
procurement will be separately synopsized in the Commerce Business
Daily. Send information to ATTN: Raymond Patten; Code 5630; Applied
