THIS PROJECT CONSIST OF PROVIDING LABOR, EQUIPMENT, AND MATERIALS TO CONSTRUCT FOUNDATIONS FOR AND PLACEMENT OF A 450,000 POUND AUTOCLAVE AND A 12-FOOT BY 23-FOOT HOIST PLATFORM LIFT TABLE; CONSTRUCTION OF A STEEL FRAME BUILDING ON A CONCRETE SLAB WITH A METAL SIDING AND STANDING SEAM METAL ROOF TO HOUSE ACCESS TO THE AUTOCLAVE AND HOUSE ACCESSORY EQUIPMENT. WORK INCLUDES MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL PROVISIONS FOR FUTURE AUTOCLAVE FUNCTIONAL OPERATIONS. THE DESIGN INCLUDES THREE ADDITIVE ALTERNATES: 1. PROVIDE AND INSTALL A FUNTIONAL 10-FOOT BY 12-FOOT ROLL-UP DOOR ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING ADDITION. 2. PROVIDE AND INSTALL A FUNCTIONAL 15-TON CAPACITY MONORAIL AND HOIST ALONG CENTERLINE OF AUTOCLAVE. 3. PROVIDE AND INSTALL ADDITIONAL ROOF AND COLUMNS ON EAST END OF STRUCTURE AS A PARTIAL SHELTER FOR THE EXPOSED PORTION OF THE AUTOCLAVE. ALL REQUEST FOR THIS SOLICITATION MUST BE MADE IN WRITING TO THE POINT OF CONTACT (JOHN BUSBEY) AND MUST INCLUDE A CASHIERS CHECK FOR $100.00 DOLLARS MADE TO "NASA CASHIER". SOLICITATION REQUEST MUST INCLUDE COMPLETE COMPANY NAME, ADDRESS, AND PHONE/FAX NUMBER. THIS SOLICIATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET! THIS SOLICITATION WILL BE AWARDED SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $500,000 AND $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 180 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small busines size standard for this procurement are 1541 and $17.0 M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about OCTOBER 23, 1997 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about NOVEMBER 26,1997. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office.
