This is a combinded synopsis/solicitation for commercial items and is issued as a Request for Quotation under N62755-98-q-0001. Separate written solicitation will not be issued. The standard industrial classification code is 3462. This requirement is for a 6" self-priming pump mounted on a highway capable trailer. Pump shall be able to pass 3" spherical solids and deliver 1200 GPM at 60' TDH and include 15 feet suction lift. Must be capable of priming and re-priming in a completely open system without requiring external check valves, compressors or vacuum pumps, even when the casting is only partially filled with water. Pump shall be of all iron construction with ductile iron impeller, 17-4 PH stainless steel shaft, gray iron wear plate and oil lubricated double floating, self-aligning mechanical seal with tungsten titanium carbide faces, viton elastomers and stainless steel metal parts. The pump shall have a coverplate for quick cleanout of the impeller/volute area, the coverplate shall be removeabe without disconnection the suction or discharge hoses. The impeller, wearplate and mechanical seal shall be replaceable throught the coverplate opening. The engine shall be air cooled, diesel, developing max. continous 63 HP at 2300 RPM. Engine shall have 12 volt electric start with alternator and shall have low oil pressure and V-belt failure shutdowns. Also temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, ammeter, hourmeter, tach and alternator failure light. Pump and engine shall be mounted on common heavy duty skid with lifting bail and integral 38.9 gallon fuel tank for minimum pull load. Operating time of 17.5 hours needed. Pump/engine skid shall be mounted on 2-wheel on the road D.O.T. approved highway trailer with torsion bar, suspension fenders, hydraulic surge brakes, running lights, safety chains, adjustable front and rear support stands. Standard equipement includes pressure relief valve, 90 degree discharge elbow and strainer. (0282)
