The purpose and intent of this contract is to secure services for precommercial thinning of approximately 1,850 acres of conifer reproduction, approximately 15 to 20 years old. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, housing, subsistence, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals except for those items listed as Government-furnished property. The project is located on the east side of Heceta Island in Southeast Alaska. Heceta Island is approximately 35 air miles northwest of Thorne Bay, Alaska. It is approximately 20-25 miles, by boat, from Naukati, Alaska, which is located on the west side of Prince of Wales Island. Contract time is 184 calendar days.
