Logistics Command, Pacific, proposes to contract for Haulout and
Repair, Utility Boats, CG41388, CG41315, CG41380, GRU Seattle. All work
will be performed starting on respective dates of January 5, 1998,
January 23, 1998, and February 17, 1998. Completion dates respective of
each boat will follow on February 6, 1998, February 17, 1998, and March
20, 1998. Work to be accomplished includes; Haulout, U/W Body Work &
Fuel Tank, Underwater Body Preservation 100%, Freeboard Preservation,
Main & Well Deck Preservation. Structural reinforcement of Gussetts,
Fire Pump Foundation Renewal, Crack Weld Repair, Longitudinal Renewal,
Prop Shaft Removal & Installation, Cutlass Bearing Renewal, Exhaust
System Repair & Realignment, Starboard Propulsion System Alignment,
Mast Stuffing Box Renewal, Trim Tab Installation, Removeable Battery
Tray Replacement, Rudder Bearing Renewal, and Transportation to & From
the Contractor's Facility. An Invitation for Bid, (IFB) in accordance
with the Competitive Demonstration Program, will be issued on November
5, 1997. All responsive sources may submit a bid which will be
considered by the agency. For Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business
Enterprises, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related
contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program
(STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
