HEADQUARTERS, NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND*** The Naval
Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), is seeking interested Industry
Representatives to participate in a one-time Environmental Remediation
Acquisition Industry Forum to be held at the Needham Theater, Naval
Construction Battalion Center, Port Hueneme, CA on 6 November 1997.
NAVFAC seeks industry recommendations, industry standards, commercial
business practices, and suggestions for the reprocurement of expiring
Remedial Action Contracts (RACs). The expiring contracts are located at
Pacific Division (Honolulu, HI), Southwest Division (San Diego, CA),
EFA West (San Bruno, CA) and Southern Division (Charleston, SC) and all
expire in early 1999. It is NAVFAC's intent to provide the opportunity
for industry representatives to provide cost/time-saving suggestions
that will streamline the acquisition process, ensure competition, and
provide responsible contract management. Subjects of interest include,
but are not limited to: multiple awards, oral presentations, proposal
length limitations, sample problems, opinions on T&M vs. FP vs. Cost
Reim., etc. Industry Forum attendance will be limited to the first 150
industry/government representatives. Two attendees from each firm will
be permitted. Attendance will not be considered as a factor when
awarding subsequent contracts. Attendance will be determined in
accordance with criteria designed to best meet the NAVFAC desire to get
a cross-section of the remediation industry. Travel, lodging, and
expenses are the responsibility of the industry representatives and
will not be paid by the Navy. Interested industry representatives
should provide the requested information as soon as possible (but not
later than 30 OCT 97) to be considered for an invitation. Written
comments/recommendations, especially from firms not invited, are
strongly encouraged. Some discussion of written questions received
prior to the forum is anticipated. A summary of the forum discussion
topics will be provided upon request after the meeting. NAVFAC reserves
the right to pre-invite representatives of incumbent contractors.

Business Size (e.g., sm, lg, small/disadvantaged), current NAVFAC
contracts (Y/N) and whether prime/sub for $100M+ contracts.
