NEW CENTER CONSTRUCTION, glosterm@doleta.gov. The work involves general
building rehabilitation of four existing buildings. The buildings are
as follows: Building No. 914 -- Vocational/Maintenance/Warehouse;
Building No. 930 -- Security; Building No. 931 -- Administration; and
Building No. 938 -- Single Parent/Honors Dormitory (Add Alternate No.
1). The work shall also include miscellaneous site improvements such as
roads, parking improvements, installation and modification for all
utility lines and site/security lighting, and all other necessary
plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, electrical and civil engineering type work
necessary for the complete functional job at the Homestead Job Corps
Center (formerly Homestead Air Force Base) located in Homestead,
Florida. The estimated cost range of construction is between $1,000,000
and $5,000,000. Plans and specifications will be available on or about
October 29, 1997, ONLY from the office of Architects International,
Inc., 227 N.E. 26th Terrace, Miami, Florida 33137. Contact Juan Crespi

Collect calls will not be accepted. It is emphasized that requests for
plans and specifications shall be directed to the A/E firm listed
above to ensure proper handling of requests. All requests must be in
writing and a $200 bid deposit is required which is refundable when
plans and specifications are returned in good condition. The bid
deposit must be in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or
money order and made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor and
submitted to Architects International, Inc. at the time of request. All
requests will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until
supplies are exhausted. For request made after the supply is exhausted,
the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is
warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of
duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-bid walk-thru
is scheduled for November 19, 1997, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Bid
opening date is December 10, 1997, at 11:00 a.m. local time. This is a
100% Small Disadvantaged Business Concern -- 8(a). The SIC Code is
