This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a Request For Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-01. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3823 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa, FL 33612, is seeking a contractor to provide on a brand name or equal basis the following equipment: Tissue Processor, Auto, 2 level, in accordance with the following description: Tissue-Tek Vacuum infiltration processor. Automatically performs fixation, dehydration, clearing and paraffin impregnation of tissue. Specimensremain stationary in an enclosed retort, while processing reagents and molten paraffin are moved to and from the chamber in programmed sequence. An audible alarm alerts you to fluid interruptions, unlocked retort, power-out or standby conditions. The comprehensive, easy access keypad allows complete system management and immediate control, even within a run, to operational and diagnostic system status. A dual fume filtration system combines a water filter and a disposable system status. A cartridge filter to ensure emission levels below current OSHA limits. The system's software ensures all processing parameters -- time, temperature, alternating pressure/vacuum and agitation are optimized. The basket design allows upright placement of specimen cassettes. Programmable, self calculating delay mode coordinates completion of processing schedules with work flow. Nine stored processing programs and automatic cleaning increase system flexibility and reduce a need for operator intervention. Reservoir rack holds 10 reagent reservoirs, two cleaning reagent reservoirs and two fume filters. Paraffin oven has four stainless steel reservoirs. P/V cycle time: 30 sec. Ambient, 90 sec. Pressure, 30 sec. Vacuum, 90 sec. Pressure. Dimensions: 19.7 "W x 52.8" H x 22.8" D. Power requirements: 115 VAC, 60HZ. Quotations shall indicate FOB point and any shipping cost. Equipment is for Ft.
