Burks, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-5021 The following is a modification of synopsis No. 97-121 which was published in the 8 Sep 97 CBD. The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) announces a technical exchange meeting and pre-solicitation conference on Ukrainian SS-24 Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) Propellant Extraction. The requirements are for removal and stabililization of the propellant, providing containers for the removed materials, and cleaning the interior of the motor cases, The requirement does not include any value added processing of extracted propellant materials to enhance its commercial value. The technical exchange meeting and pre-solicitation conference will be held on 21-22 Oct 97 at Holiday Inn Historic, 635 First Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. On 21 or 22 Oct companies may present a private briefing summarizing their approach to the stated requirements to Ukrainian and U.S. Government officials. Companies will be assigned briefing times on these days, upon receipt of a faxed request to present a briefing. Allotted briefing times may be limited, depending on number of responses received. The pre-solicitation conference will be held on 22 Oct 97 at 1:00 pm at the same location. Companies who do not present on 21 or 22 Oct are not precluded from attending the pre-solicitation conference. The pre-solicitation conference is intended to promote dialog between U.S. and Ukrainian Government representatives and private sector companies with experience in removing solid propellant from SRMs. All those wishing to attend shall fax a letter including the company name and attendees to DSWA/AMD, ATTN: Sheila K. Roche, 6801 Telegraph Road, VA 22310, at (703) 325-9293, NLT 17 Oct 97. Those desiring to make a presentation on the 21st or 22nd need to indicate this in their response. Foreign nations wishing to attend must also provide the following: Country/Passport Number/Expiration Date, Date of Birth and Place of Birth.
