The National Park Service is soliciting proposals (in the form of a negotiated firm-fixed price contract requiring submission of both a technical and a price proposal). -- The work of this contract consists of cleaning and repair of the Washington Monument including, erection, design, and maintenance of scaffolding which includes a decorative element, which is a component of the scaffolding system; temporary protection of the Monument, visitors and workmen, the site and non-removable site features such as floodlight housing, pavement, and repair or replacement of any damaged items; cleaning and repointing of the exterior stonework; replacement and repair of damaged stone veneer; replacement of the existing observation windows; resealing of existing covers over the aircraft warning lights; and installation of lightning protection system. -- All requests for project documents must be made in writing. A non-refundable bid deposit for project documents is $250 per set, 3 set maximum, in the form of acashier's check, certified check, or money order made payable to the National Park Service.
