(CBD SYNOPSIS) SPECIAL NOTICE TO COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY (CBD) NRA 97-OSS-14 The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Office of Space Science (OSS) is releasing a NASA Research Announcement (NRA 97-OSS-14) entitled Advanced X-ray Astrophysics Facility (AXAF) Guest Observer Program (Cycle 1) that solicits proposals for participation in the NASA OSS program to acquire and analyze scientific data from AXAF. The AXAF launch is currently scheduled for August 27, 1998. This Research Announcement is the first for AXAF guest observations and solicits proposals for observations to be carried out beginning about four months after launch and lasting nine months. Participation is open to all categories of organizations, foreign and domestic, including industry, educational institutions, NASA Centers, nonprofit organizations, and other Government agencies. Upon the release date, specific guidance for proposal preparation will be available electronically from the World Wide Web by selecting "Research Opportunities" at <http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/oss/&;gt;.
