J -- DOCKSIDE REPAIRS FOR THE USCGC SWEETGUM (WLB-309) SOL DTCG80-98-B-3FC716 DUE 112697 POC Contact Ms. Sharon Gayle, Contract Specialist, at (757) 628-4636 Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs to the USCGC SWEETGUM (WLB-309) including but not limited to the following minimum items: (1) Renew watertight doors, (2) Overhaul #1, #2 and emergency ship service generators, (3) Overhaul various ventilation system, (4) Modify deck drain piping, (5) Inspect, overhaul and test weight handling equipment, (6) Overhaul and weight test shipboard crane (allied 5000) equipment, (7) Overhaul and test sea ark (utl) davit equipment, (8) Renew deck covering, etc. Indefinite items include but are not limited to the following items: (1) Perform ultrasonic testing, single shots (1-99) shots, (2) Perform ultrasonic testing, 100 shots per group, etc. Vessel is a 180 foot "S" Class Sea Going Buoy Tender. Vessel length is 180 feet; width is 37 feet. Vessel homepier is Mobile, AL. Vessel availability schedule is on or about January 6, 1998. Performance period is scheduled for 28 calendar days. There will be a non-refundable charge of $100.00 in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. Orders must be placed within ten (10) days of solicitation issuance. The proposed contract listed here is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and specifications will be issued on or after October 27, 1997 from our office location, Commander (vpl-1), Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic, 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. This notice is for information purposes for minority, women-owned and disadvantaged Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
