This project will be bid under two schedules. Quantities for both schedules are identical except that Schedule A has 3034 sq meters of stone masonry, and Schedule B has no stone masonry work. This project includes: construction scheduling; contractor sampling/testing; 2600 metric ton hot asphalt concrete pavement; 2.1 hectare clearing/grubbing; 880 meter of concrete barrier; 150 cubic meter minor concrete structures; 27 meter curb/gutter; 108 cubic meter structural concrete; 383 square meter reinforced concrete retaining wall; 1.4 kilometer survey/staking; 3,500 metric ton untreated aggregate course; 600 meter riprap lined ditch; 1,100 meter silt fence; 600 cubic meter excavation; 2,000 cubic meter watering; 250 square meter gabion; 5,958 kilogram reinforcing steel; 61 square meter rockery wall; 157 square meter rockery retaining wall geogrid reinforced;805 cubic meter riprap; 8,000 hr flagger; 5,890 meter pavement markings; 2 hectare turf establishment; 6,000 square meter wetland mitigation; and other smaller items of work. This project is located approximately 65 kilometers southeast of Enumclaw, WA. Preliminary plans will be issued in mid-October 1997 with solicitation documents available on or about January 15, 1998. NOTE: This is a re-solicitation of the project work. The previous solicitation douments included stone masonry work in both schedules, and excluded the paving from Schedule B. This re-solicitation includes paving in both Schedules, and excludes the stone masonry work from Schedule B. Work shall be completed within 284 calendar days. Estimated price range is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Presolicitation Notices are being provided to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the publication of this synopsis. -- -- The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Departmentof Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
