Z -- CHILLED WATER REPLACEMENT (PROJECT NO. 672-307) SOL IFB672-143-98 DUE 120197 POC Gilberto Ratcliff, (787) 766-6538 The VA Medical Center, San Juan P.R. requires the procurements of a construction project titled "Chilled Water Plant Replacement" (Project No. 672-307). Work includes a new building, the installation of two new 1300 tons chillers, modification and relocation of an existing 600 tons chiller, installation of new cooing towers, pumps, water treatment, piping, controls, and other auxiliaries. Demolition of existing equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, pumps and piping will take place. New underground piping from the plant to the hospital shall be installed. It will also be required modifications to existing electrical substations and installation of new feeders. Several mechanical and electrical tie-ins shall be done. Asbestos abatement and environmental work will be necessary. The work shall be done as requested by drawings and specifications. Bidders are requested to visit the site and attend the pre-bid conference on November 14, 1997. The estimated cost range of this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. This procurement is subject to the availability of funds. Bid documents will be available on Friday, October 31, 1997. Bid documents (Plans and Specifications) will be furnished for a non-refundable cost of $ 200.00 in the form of Money Order, Certified or Manager's Check payable to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
