FAX (703) 784-5826 The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is
requesting information for the following power distribution equipment.
NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME. The U.S. Marine Corps is
conducting a market survey to seek sources, contract vehicles,
technical information, and approximate costing for portable power
supplies. The market survey is for tactical power supply comparable to
the power manpack (power supply) that is currently provided with the
Team Portable Communications Intelligence System (TPCS). The dimensions
of equipment currently in use are 15 x 18 x 18 inches and the weight is
approximately 55 lbs. Input power sources for the candidate power
supply are worldwide commercial 115/220 volts AC (50 or 60 Hz) and
military 24/28 volts DC utilizing generator and vehicle power. Output
receptacles required for TPCS connections are (6) 24 VDC red
receptacles, (3) 12 VDC black receptacles, and (6) 24 VDC black
receptacles. Size, weight, cost, ruggedness, reliability, portability,
operating temperature, availability for procurement, modifications
required to run TPCS equipment and lead times for all modifications are
all major concerns. An uninterruptable power system (UPS) is a desired,
but not required, capability. System safety features, mechanical and
electrical, are required for both operators and maintainers. This
request is for information only. Interested sources are requested to
send information by no later than 5 NOV 97 to: Commander, Attn CTQ2VW,
MARCORSYSCOM, 2033 Barnett Ave. Suite 315, Quantico, VA 22134-5010.
Any questions should be directed to the contact person listed above.
THE MARINE CORPS DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF
THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION
