E-MAIL: William B. Joiner, bjoiner@mail.arc.nasa.gov. NASA/ARC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP)for a large engineering services contract for research and development. Work to be performed under the contract will be on-site at the Ames Research Center in support of the Systems Engineering Division. Work to be accomplished by the contractor will include systems engineering, design, development, fabrication oversight, limited fabrication, testing, and operations support. These tasks will be accomplished in support of spacecraft, aircraft, windtunnels, information systems, centrifuges, testing laboratories, simulators and other similar research and development facilities. For information purposes, this is a recompetition of an ongoing contract. It is expected that the follow-on contract will require a staff of 100 to 150 service, administrative, and professional employees. A draft Request for Proposal is being issued concurrently with this announcement. Interested parties should download the draft solicitation from the NASA Ames Acquisition Division Internet site listed below. The anticipated release date of RFP2-36301 is on or about Novemeber 14, 1997, with an anticipated proposal due date of on or about January 9, 1998. All qualified responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed. See Internet Note "B".
