C -- A/E AND INTERIOR DESIGN SERVICES SOL 554-11-98 DUE 112097 POC Jan Bertapelle-Anderson, 303/393-4689 The VAMC Denver is seeking qualified and interested A/E firms to furnish all necessary professional architectural, engineering,and interior design services required to produce a complete set of bidding documents to include drawings, specifications and construction cost estimates for the remodeling of 7 nurse's stations, nursing units, to include patient bedrooms, private bathrooms, corridors and miscellaneous support spaces. Furthermore this project will modify existing exhaust ducts and exhaust fans in selected rooms. All waiting areas contained near the nursing units shall be remodeled. The A/E will desing a set of private suites on certain nursing units. The remodeling shall consitst of, but not be limited to, new spatial configurations, door replacement/refinish, wall finishes, ceiling treatments, lighting, flooring, furniture, cubical curtain tract, vinyl treatment, and color and the application of texture. Additionally, the A/E will integrate into these construction documents, the construction documents for the replacement of the nurse call system and the remodeling of the congregate bathrooms. The A/E shall deliver a review set of documents at the 35% and 95% stages. The A/E shall be required to produce a full scale mock up of the proposed nurses station layout. An alternate cost shall be provided to the VA for the cost to develop a virtual reality presentation of 3 options for the design of each nursing ward to include spatial, color and furniture layouts. This presentation will be computer generated and shall contain movement thru the spaces. All interested and qualified A/E firms within a 125 mile radius of the VAMC Denver are invited to submit SF 254/255 by close of business November 20, 1997. (0289)
