DESCRIPTION OF WORK -- The work includes construction of an approximately 7,500 SF multi-level close quarter battle range (CQBR) with fixed and movable ballistic partitions and open, natural ventilation. The CQBR shall have ballistic doors, hatch and scuttle entries on the roof and perimeter at each level, internal ship configuration, closed circuit television observation system, and incidental related work, complete and ready for use. The estimated cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Firm Fixed Price Contract. Contract duration is approximately 180 calendar days. This contract is unrestricted. The Standard Industrial Code is 1542 and the annual size standard is $17 million. It is recommended that subcontracting goals reflect a minimum goal of 5% for Small Disadvantaged Business subcontracting effort. Bidders must request copies of the solicitation documents in writing, stating IFB number N68711-97-B-8425, with complete name, address, area code and telephone number and whether bidding as a prime, subcontractor or supplier.
