synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation. Proposals are being requested and a
wr itten solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued
as a request for quote. Request For Solicitation No. F41650-97-TH429.
Solicitation documents and incorporated and clause provisions and
clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular, dated
Oct 1995. SIC CODE: 3823, DO Rating: C9E. Offerors are requested to
submit with their offer, in support of their price, catalogs, or price
list, and any reoccuring or non-recurring direct cost that will

Scope of work: The services to be performed under this contract shall
consist of Field Service, Carbon Testing, Minor, Heavy repairs and
repair parts. The contractor shall trouble shoot the Carbon Absorption
Unit and provide recommendations to improve systems operation. The
contractor shall work with plant management craftsmen in order to have
a better understanding of the system and its repair/adjustments
requirements. The contractor shall test the density,activity and
retentively of the Carbon in the Carbon Tank (vessel) and provide a
written report with findings/recommendations. The contractor shall
provide technical supervision for heavy work requirements such as
damper replacements, ducts and etc,. The contractor shall provide a
replacement parts list with price availability within two weeks of
on-site inspection. The government shall provide all materials and
parts necessary for the repairs. The government reserves the right to
purchase the repair parts from any vendor. WARRANTY: The contractor is
responsible for making the Carbon Absorption unit operational, in
meeting the Federal/State Environmental Regulations. The contractor
shall provide 4 each repair field service on-site trips as required.
The government shall make arrangements with the contractor 30 days
prior to on-site repair jobs. The government reserves the right to call
the contractor before 30 days on emergencies only. The contractor will
work Monday through Friday, eight hours a day. Only in the case of
emergencies will the contractor be asked to stay to work overtime. The
government shall pay per diem for one person (contractor) to include
travel, car rental and meals for four each on-site repair trips for one
year. Additional trips may be required, the government will make
