The beach fill area for the Base Bid (approximately 490,000 cubic yards) will have an approximate length of 1.2 miles with a southern limit of the beach fill area located approximately 2.4 miles south of the Canaveral Harbor Entrance Channel. The beach fill area for the Optional Bid Item A (approximately 267,000 cubic yards) will have an approximate length of 0.8 miles north of the northerly limit of the Base Bid beach fill area. The sand will be obtained from a borrow area located adjacent to and north of the Canaveral Harbor Entrance Channel. Project work will be done by cutterhead hydraulic pipeline dredge. No work to be performed on the beach after May 15, 1998. Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Pre-Solicitation Notice will be issued on or about 15 Oct 97. Invitation DACW17-98-B-0004 will be issued on or about 03 Nov 97 and opened on or about 18 Dec 97. Cost of Plans and Specifications is $30.00.
