The Government intends to issue a competitive solicitation to deliver up to approximately 1,300 Submarine distress buoys using existing Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) technology. This includes a basic quantity of 110 Submarine distress bouys with six Options to purchase approximately 200 additional Submarine distress bouys under each Option. This solicitation requires re-packaging commercial EPIRBs to be launched from a 3 inch launcher with a pre-deployed antenna, submarine approved batteries and other submarine unique requirements.
