C -- CORRECT FIRE/SAFETY DEFICIENCIES BLDG 57 SOL 678-08-98 DUE 110697 POC Carol Lewis (520) 629-4613 Complete site survey(s), construction documents, detailed cost estimate and selected construction mgmt svcs to accomplish project 678-97-101, Correct Fire/Safety Deficiencies Bldg 57. Building 57 is approximately 135,000 sf (2 stories above grade plus a partially furnished basement). Design shall be in strict accordance with all applicable codes and VA regulations. Construction to be designed under this project includes, but is not limited to, extension of automatic sprinkler protection, correction of penetrations separating areas for smoke and fire compartmentation, installation of automatic and self-closing devices on doors, replacement of existing standard response sprinkler heads, replacement of labeled doors in fire resistive construction, modification of existing doors, removal of trash chute with installation of one partial floor slab and modification of two terminal rooms, possible removal of washer sterilizer with modification to an adjacent partition and passageway doors. Complete/detailed design requirements will be included in "Supplement B" of actual contract. Estimated construction cost range is $250,000 to $500,000.
