C -- FIRE SPRINKLER PROJECT SOL 442-4-98 DUE 112197 POC Fran Friehauf, 307-778-7329 A/E services are required for design of 100% quick response fire sprinklers throughout the main complex of buildings at VA Medical Center, Cheyenne, Wyoming In addition to drawings and specifications to accomplish the sprinkler work, the A/E will furnish architectural drawings of all buildings and a site plan with the features of fire protection (i.e. smoke walls, fire walls, pull stations, flow switches, smoke detectors, etc.). The drawings will be in vector form using AutoCAD (disks furnished to the VA) and layered according to AIA standards. Drawings will include base architectural drawing (walls, doors, etc.) and include room attribute information such as room number, title, service, size, etc.. Provide reproducible drawings on mylar in D size. Also, furnish 5 copies of AutoCAD Lite and two copies of AutoCad R 14. Provide 40 hours of classroom training for 5 individuals. Area of consideration is limited to firms located within 50 mile radius of Cheyenne, Wyoming and those firms desiring consideration should submit current SF254 and SF255 before close of business November 21, 1997. Procurement is an Emerging Small Business set-aside (SIC 8711). An emerging small business under this SIC is defined as a business whose average annual sales for the past three years did not exceed $1.25 million. A/E selection criteria will include: (1) professional qualifications necessary for performance of required services; (2) specialized experience and technical competence with similar type projects; (3) past performance on contracts with Government agencies; (4) geographical location of A/E firm; (5) experience and roles of key design personnel, specifically on related projects; (6) cost control and estimating effectiveness.
