The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center Norfolk Washington Detachment intends to negotiate a sole source contract for the Office of Clinical Laboratory Affairs of Rockville, Maryland with the College of American Pathologists (CAP). This contract will be for providing annual inspections and laboratory proficiency testing program evaluations based on comparison of over 12,000 medical laboratory and external performance testing survey material. The period of performance is scheduled to begin 01 January 1998 with one year period of performance. This procurement will provide Navy medical laboratories the services and supplies required to meet requirements set forth in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement of 1988 (CLIA 88) and to maintain their College of American Pathologists (CAP) laboratory accreditation, as required by regulation.
