contact is:. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole
source basis with the State of Ohio, Emergency Management Agency, in
Columbus, Ohio, for services to provide routine and emergency
maintenance for NOAA Weather Radio transmitters at seven locations in
Ohio. Access to these sites is state-restricted and the State of Ohio,
Emergency Management Agency is the only known source capable of
performing this requirement with the necesary approval to work on
restricted sites. The proposed contract action is for services for
which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one
source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify
their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit
proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive
proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days after
date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the
Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this
proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within
the discretion of the Government. Information received will normaly be
considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a
competitive procurement. Evidence must be provided of acceptance by the
State of Ohio to work at state facilities on state property.
Maintenance will be required on narrow-band, VHF-FM transmitting
equipment (100-1000 watts) on one or seven frequencies, ranging from
162.400 to 162.550 MHz. Contractor shall furnish all normal hand tools
and fundamental test equipment used in the maintenance of VHF-FM
transmitting equipment. The period of performance will be January 1,
1998 through September 30, 1998 with four one-year options. Copies of
solicitation 52-EANW-8-00009 will only be provided in response to
written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor.
