Symposium is to examine how our nation's Special Operations Forces can
optimize not only their contribution to the challenges of the
uncertain future, but also maintain their operational superiority and
readiness to meet any of today's missions. To address the critical role
of SOF in preparing now for an uncertain national security future, the
Symposium will offer presentations and panel discussions on: The
Nature of Future Military Operations; SOF Modernization -- Assuring
Preeminence for the Future; Resourcing the Strtegy -- QDR and the
Budget -- SOF Implications; and The Command Perspective. Keynote and
major addresses by senior DoD and US Speical Operations Command
officials will include: Preparing Now for the Uncertain Future: Special
Operations -- The Force; and Shaping Tomorrow's SOF. Seminars are
scheduled to provide a forum for discussion with experts from the DoD
and USSOCOM on the following areas: Force Protection;
Counterproliferation; Civil Affairs; Psychological Operations; C41; and
Foreign Internal Defense. This Symposium will be extremely useful to
industry leaders who are developing strategies for their companies'
defense business and directing the allocation of resources to pursue
programs supporting modernization, readiness, maintenance and
operations of our SOF. The Symposium will be important to those, both
in and outside of government, who want to participate in an interactive
educational process on the vital SO/LIC national security program.
Gathered for this event will be the leaders of SOF from both industry
and the force -- your attendance is invited and will add significantly
to the importance and success of the Symposium. A concurrent
exhibition will be held adjacent to the luncheon area. For more
