NASA Langley Research Center plans to issue a IFB/Request for Offers for the COLTS Weather Enclosure and Specimen Handling Device which consists of construction of a bridge crane and weather enclosure to house the COLTS Test Chamber. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 270 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1542 and $17 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB/RFO is on or about November 7, 1997, with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about December 8, 1997. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB/RFO. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office at (757) 864-2547. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- SeeInternet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet.
