The work to be performed under this acquisition includes (a) excavation to expose the upper portion of about 2,100 feet of existing 18- and 24-inch-diameter corrugated plastic drainage pipe having an average of about 8 feet of earth cover and extending along the downstream toe and stability berm of Lake Alice Dam No. 1; (b) drilling 3/8-inch-diameter holes through the wall of the drainage pipe at a rate of 36 holes per linear foot of pipe; (c) furnishing and placing gravel envelope to a thickness of 9 inches about the upper half of the pipe; (d) furnishing and placing sand and gravel filter material to a thickness of 21 inches about the gravel envelope; (e) placing and compacting backfill within the remainder of the trench; and (f) earthwork and furnishing all materials for construction of about 215 square yards of blanket drain excavated to a depth of about 6 feet with placement of sand and gravel filter material to a thickness of about 2.5 feet and installation of 100 feet of 6-inch-diameter plastic corrugated drainage pipe with gravel envelope. The estimated price range of the work is $100,001 to $250,000. The work is located approximately 10 miles north of Scottsbluff, Nebraska in Scotts Bluff County. Solicitation packages are anticipated to available 11/17/97. Requests for solicitations should be received on or before 12/04/97. The bid opening is tentatively scheduled for 12/18/97, at the office of the Bureau of Reclamation, Wyoming Area Office, 705 Pendell Avenue, 2 miles west of Casper, 3 blocks south of Highways 20 & 26, Mills, Wyoming. The contract is to be completed with approximately 70 days. Therre is no charge for the first copy of the solicitation, additional sets will be provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 each. After issuance, the solicitation may be viewed, without charge, at the following offices of the Bureau of Reclamation: Great Plains Regional Office, Room 2031, Federal Building, 316 North 26th Street, Billings, Montana, or Wyoming Area Office, Mills, Wyoming. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Bureau of Reclamation.
