Division of Clinical Sciences intends to issue a Sole Source purchase
order to Louisiana State University Medical Center, Stanley Scott
Cancer Center, 1542 Tulane Ave., Rm. 441, New Orleans, La. 70112 for
the Evaluation of alterations in signal Transduction Molecules in
patients with Breast Cancer. The Immunotherapy Laboratory at Louisiana
State University Medical Center has developed novel approaches to
evaluate the immune system by measuring alterations in signal
transduction proteins and in nuclear transcription factors. The process
of T cells simulation and activiation is initiated by the coordinated
binding of antigen to the T cell receptor (TCR) and a costimulatory
signals to the corresponding receptors. This process is altered in
patients with different types of cancer, however, little is known in
patients with breast cancer. Based on the novel approach and current
results of this testing, as well as ongoing collaborations between this
laboratory and the Division of Clinical Sciences, Louisiana State
University Medical Center is the only source who can fulfill this need.
It is essential to the Division of Clinical Science that the process of
T cell simulation and activiation be charted for breast cancer patients
in order to gaither information regarding immune dysfunction and immune
response inhibitors as a result of breast cancer at different stages of
progression. This is not a request for quotes vendors who believe they
can meet the government requirements may submit their qualifications.
The submission must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail
so that a determination can be made regarding meeting the governments
requirements. The submission must be received by the COB November 10,
1997. No collect calls will be accepted. (0294) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0010 19971023\A-0010.SOL)
