The National Institute of Standards and Technology has a requirement for a one-year maintenance agreement, with four, one-year options, for a Philips EM430 Electron Microscope with a twin lens/super twin lens; and for a Gatan TV System accessory to the microscope, Philips #MA5247. All maintenance shall be performed at the NIST site in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The maintenance agreement shall include all labor, travel expenses, living expenses and all major parts coverage. The above accessory system to be covered, shall include the same maintenance provisions as the main instrument. The maintenance agreement shall include unlimited emergency visits during regular business hours and routine preventative maintenance calls. In accordance with FAR 13.602, it is the intent of the Government to negotiate only with Philips Electron Optics/FEI Company of Mahwah, New Jersey, as the only reasonable source able to satisfy the needs of the government. Philips is the manufacturer of the above referenced equipment, andis the only source with the knowledge and applicable replacement parts, able to perform the required maintenance. It is the government's intent to issue a firm, fixed price purchase order for this requirement. No solicitation package is available. This requirement is contingent upon the availability of funding.
