Regional Contract Specialist, 606-253-8880 The Federal Bureau of
Prisons intends to award a Non Personal services contract for a
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Duties are to be performed at the the
Federal Prison Camp, located at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base,
Goldsboro, North Carolina. The services are to provide LPN services to
the inmate population. The contractor will be responsible for the
following; drawing venous blood samples, starting IV's, caring of
inmates in emergency situations, providing Basic Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation, interpreting and executing Physician or Physician
Assistant orders for treatment. Administer medications/injections as
per physician orders, physical assessment of patients, including vital
signs and subjective and objective findings, follow infection control
policies and procedures when indicated, lift and reposition
incapacitated patients, transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher,
and other transport equipment, assist physician or physician's
assistant in minor surgical procedcures. The LPN must be a graduate of
an accredited school of Nursing for Licensed Practical Nursing; must
have current North Carolina Certificate/License as an LPN; must have
current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support. Have the ability
to provide reports in a typewritten form. This contract will include a
base year not to exceed (12) twelve months from date of award, with
four (4), one (1) year option periods for renewal. Estimated number of
sessions for the base year = 260, (two (2) sessions per day, three (3)
days a week, one (1) session equals three (3) hours in length.) Option
Year #1 estimated sessions = 260, Option Year #2 estimated sessions =
260, Option Year #3 estimated sessions = 260, Option Year #4 estimated
sessions = 260. Solicitation packages will be mailed approximately
November 3, 1997, with an approximate due date of November 21, 1997. It
is anticipated this solicitation will result from a Firm Fixed Price,
Requirements, type contract. The proposed contract is 100% set aside
for small business concerns. All responsible sources may submit an
