Montgomery, Regional Contract Specialist, 606-253-8880 The Federal
Bureau of Prisons intends to award a Non Personal services contract for
a X-Ray Technician. Duties are to be performed at the the Federal
Correctional Institution/Federal Prison Camp, located in Elkton, Ohio.
The services are to provide X-Ray Technician services to the inmate
population. The contractor will be responsible for the following;
performing routine x-ray exams, performing emergency x-ray exams,
performing fluoroscopy exams under the direction of a Radiologist,
performing venipuncture ability to start and discontinue IV's,
performing portable x-ray exams, must be capable of performing quality
assurance tasks, capable of working without direct supervision of a
Radiologist or other Technologist during regular X-ray exams, ability
to formulate techniques. Knowledge of ordering and distributing film
badges, capable of reviewing and complying with JCAHO and OSHA
guidelines. Must have one's own malpractice insurance. Contractor will
be responsible for submitting written reports, evaluations, and
operation plans for the X-ray Department and educational in-service s
to the house staff if requested by the Health Services Administrator
(HSA). Must have ability to provide reports in a typewritten form using
a computer (Wordperfect) verified by the contractor's signature and
hand carried personally to the HSA. Contractor/individual must be a
licensed/certified X-ray Technician in the state of Ohio and must
possess a current registration with the College of American
Radiologists. Knowledge about performing multiple x-ray examinations,
proper instrument use, and the assessment of validity of patient test
results is required. This contract will include a base year not to
exceed (12) twelve months from date of award. Estimated number of
sessions for the base year is 520, (two (2) sessions per day, five(5)
days a week, one (1) session equals three (3) hours in length).
Solicitation packages will be mailed approximately November 3, 1997,
with an approximate due date of November 24, 1997. It is anticipated
this solicitation will result from a Firm Fixed Price, Requirements,
type contract. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small
business concerns. All responsible sources may submit an offer which
