E-MAIL: Jan Cook, Jan.M.Cook@usace.army.mil. On or about 26 November 1997, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of Alternate Water Supply, Hordville, NE. Bids will be opened on or about 05 January 1998. This solicitation is unrestricted and open to both large and small business participation. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact the Area Engineer's Office, Fort Crook Area, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, P.O. Box 13287, Bldg. 527, Offutt AFB, Omaha, Nebraska 68113, Telephone 402-293-2550. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Installation of two new drinking water wells. Each well pump will be capable of pumping 270 GPM at specified pressure head. A single 12' x 24' pump house will contain valves and controls. An emergency generator in a weather proof enclosure will be located just outside the pump house. Also included is about 1700 feet of 6 inch supply piping. Existing city wells 75-1 and 58-1 shall be isolated from the distribution system. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing and no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets be limited to one (1) per firm.
