F -- HAZARDOUS AND NON-HAZARDOUS WASTE REMOVAL SERVICES DUE 120197 POC Kathy Craig (703) 648-7357 The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for services to be provided at its National Center located in Reston, VA and the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center located in Laurel, MD. Services shall include removal and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Contractor shall be required to furnish labor, equipment, materials, containers, and all services necessary to collect, sort, package, manifest, transport, treat, recycle and dispose of waste at proper EPA-permitted facilities, using EPA-approved methods, and in accordance with all pertinent State and federal regulations. Contractor must be licensed and is required to furnish a Certificate of Waste Disposal Disposition to the USGS no later than 90 days after disposal. Generated waste could contain unknown substances and explosives. Services will require (without additional expense to the USGS) the maintenance, packaging, shipping and compliance with the required licenses and permits in accordance with federal and State codes and local regulations, and DOT and EPA shipping specifications. Contractor shall be capable of providing emergency response services and cleanup, on a 24-hour basis, with a maximum response time of four hours, 365 days-a-year. The contractor must maintain a $1 Billion "pollution prevention" insurance policy or $1 Billion Certificate of Assurance and Indemnification. The contract shall be for one year with two additional option years. Requests for the solicitation package shall be in writing only and can be requested via facsimile at (703) 648-7901.
