R -- STOREROOM OPERATIONS AND LAB SUPPORT SOL 223-98-2331 DUE 121597 POC Hamilton Brown 301-443-4460, 301-443-3691 (fax), HBROWN@BANGATE.FDA.GOV The Food and Drug Administration intends to contract with a small business firm to furnish the necessary personnel, materials, and services to perform Storeroom Operations and Lab Support for the Muirkirk Road Campus (MRC) in Laurel, Maryland, Columbus Center (CC) in Baltimore, Maryland and the new College Park (CP) facilities in College Park, Maryland (anticipated to be completed in the Year 2001). The storeroom operations include the receiving, storing, shipping and issuing of all commodities, supplies and equipment received and the tracking via computerized database systems of all commodities received and issued at and from the MRC and CP facilities and the maintenance of clean and orderly storerooms. The laboratory support services entail the preparation of media and stock solutions; the issuance, cleaning and stocking of glassware; the packaging for transport, distribution and transport of media products and glassware items for the scientific activities at the MRC, CC and CP facilities and the tracking via computerized database systems of all media products and glassware inventoried and issued. Services shall also include the timely collection of special medical waste from the laboratories such as broken glassware, empty glass solvent containers (for recycle) and biohazardous items contained in biohazard bags and autoclaveable biohazard bags placed in designated containers to be processed by sterilization. The contractor shall deliver all packaged special medical waste containers to designated special medical waste storage areas and track via computerized database system the collection and final disposition of all special medical waste at the cited facilities. A cost-plus-fixed-fee contract is contemplated with a base year and four (4) option years.
