JULY 1, 1998, HYATT REGENCY CRYSTAL CITY, ARLINGTON, VA The Flagship
Section of the American Society of Naval Engineers is sponsoring a
symposium focused on Condition Based Maintenance. The objective is to
bring together members of the marine community to exchange ideas on
achieving reductions in total ownership cost and increased operational
availability through the implementation of Condition Based Maintenance
for maritime systems. A broad range of issues from policy, procedures
and technology will be covered. Authors are strongly encouraged to
develop proposals for the topics described below, but abstracts for
alternate topics are also encouraged. WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Fleet Owners,
Fleet Engineers, Aviation Repairers and Maintainers, Repair Facility
Operators, Suppliers, Regulatory Authorities, Designers & Engineers,
Builders, Vessel Operators, Classification Society Representatives,
Insurers. TOPIC AREAS: Automation, Corrosion Control, Combat Systems,
Training, Diagnostics, Power Systems, Transportation, Systems Modeling,
Mechanical Systems, Monitoring, Regulation, Workload Management.
SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS: Abstracts should be submitted electronically
with the following information: 1) First author's name, affiliation,
address, phone, fax, e-mail; 2) Name and addresses of all other
authors; 3) Title of paper; 4) Topic Area; and 5) Abstract describing
