This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented by additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. N65236-98-R-0404 is issued as a RFP. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-37. Because the items being purchased are proprietary, this action is being done on a sole source basis to Trivec-Avant Corporation, Huntington Beach, CA. The required items are 17 single shipboard lightweight antenna systems consisting of a +10 dBiC antenna, radome, positioning unit, 19-inch rack mounted remote control unit using ship's heading, in synchro format (Part Number: AV-2098-1). They shall be delivered FOB to Receiving Officer, SPAWAR Systems Center Charleston, 1639 Avenue "B" North, North Charleston, SC 29405-1639. Antennas are required commencing, 19 DEC 1997 (1 ea.), 16 JAN 1998 (1 ea.), 30 JAN 1998 (1 ea.), then 1 every two weeks thereafter. Estimated completion date is 30 JUL 1998, but no later than 30 SEP 1998. Note: The last 5 systems to be delivered are an option. The resulting contract will be on a firm fixed price basis. Provision 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial, applies to this acquisition. Offerors are to include a completed copy of provision FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with its offer. FAR Clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition.
