66 -- GAS FLOW TRANSFER STANDARD SOL F33660-98-R7500 DUE 121097 POC Janet Casler, Buyer, 614-788-5041, Glenna Pound, Contracting Officer, 614-788-5043 Gas Flow Transfer Standard (GFTS) used for correlating the measurement performance of all primary gas flow measurement standards in the USAF. The GFTS will consist of appropriate sensors to acquire instrumentation data and compute gas flowrates. Four sonic nozzles are required that will cover four separate flow rate ranges. The flowrate ranges are between 1,000 and 800,000 standard cubic centimeters per minute. The GFTS shall operate over a temperature range of 60-80 deg F. The equipment required for the GFTS is a manifold, selection valves, pressure regulator, sonic nozzles, pressure and temperature instrumentation, flow conditioners and straighteners, interface box with laptop PC, calibration software, and all ancillary equipment required to operate the GFTS. Although this specification describes a sonic nozzle based system, sonic venturies are also acceptable for this application. Training, data and a five year warranty are also required. A NIST traceable calibration of all component items shall be provided by the contractor. The calibration shall include individual calibrations of the pressure transducers, temperature sensors, and sonic nozzles. A complete system calibration shall also be included. The system calibration shall consist of calibrating each GFTS as a unit on air at the NIST Fluid Flow Group's laboratories in Gaithersburg MD. Purchase Description 98MLLEDSM01 dated 8 Aug 97 discusses the performance requirements of the GFTS. Quantity is two each. Required delivery will be approx 180 calendar days after contract award.
