A -- AIRCRAFT CRASH MODELING SUPPORT POC Michael Jackson, Negotiator, (703) 325-9211, Edward Archer, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-5028 The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) plans to award a sole source purchase order to Kaman Sciences Corporation (KSC), 1500 Garden of the Gods Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80933. KSC will support DSWA in the development of aircraft crash assessment models and simulation of aircraft and aircraft parts, e.g., engines, impacting into structures and parts of structures containing hazardous materials. In the conduct of this work, KSC will demonstrate their finite element analysis (FEA) models, simulations, and analytic techniques, with specific examples selected for their applicability to ongoing DSWA nuclear weapon system safety (WSSA) programs. DSWA believes that KSC is the only source possessing the existing RDT&E expertise to adapt this specific requirement to meet this program requirement within the time required by DSWA and available funding.
