Notice issued on 8 Oct 97. The scope of this project requires the
following amendment be incorporated in the Request for Quote. 1. The
subject project documents are amemded as follows : a. Drawings: (1)
Sheet E1, Note 2: Delete the second sentence, "The Contractor may reuse
existing light fixtures, mounting plates and conduit where possible".
(2) Sheet E1, Note 3: Delete the word "only". (3) Sheets E2 and E3,
Note 2 on both: Change last sentence to read: "The Contractor shall
provide wire mesh grips on all cable connectors installed". (4) Sheet
E3, Note 1: Delete the second sentence, "The Contractor shall reuse
existing lights where possible". (5) Sheet E1: Add new Note 8 to read:
The cables supplying power to the stands listed below shall have
cables installed at the specified lengths and sized appropriately as
per the NEC. Stand Number Quantity Cable Length 9 2ea 100 Feet 12 1ea

1ea 100 Feet b. Specifications: (1) Change para 1.02 to read: "The
project consists essentially of, but is not limited to, replacing all
the existing electrical power and lighting circuits on 28 aircraft
maintenance stands to include conduit, wiring, lighting fixtures,
mounting plates, devices, receptacles, cords, plugs and associated
hardware as per the specifications, drawings, technical orders (T.O.)
35D34-8-1 (Change 12, 15 Jul 94) and TO 35D34-8-4 (Change 8, 1 Jun 94),
and the National Electric Code (NEC)." (2) Para 1.07: Add "In the event
of a conflict, and unless otherwise directed by the Contracting
Officer, the Specifications take precedence over the drawings." (3)
Delete para 1.11A. (4) Para 3.7: Add new sub paragraph 3.7.1.1: "The
lighting fixtures will be replaced with complete Killark 150 watt HPS
fixtures P/N EZS150A2-T, guard P/N EZG1, Standard Dome Reflector P/N
VMPSD-40 and Lamps." (5) Para 3.9: Change to read: "3.9 TESTS 3.9.1
Operating Tests: After the installation is completed, and as such time
as the Contracting Officer may direct, the Contractor shall conduct
operating tests for approval. The equipment shall be demonstrated to
operate in accordance with the specified requirements. 3.9.2 Field
Tests: The Contractor shall notify the Contracting Officer at least 2
calendar days prior to conducting field tests. The Contractor shall
furnish all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to conduct field
tests. The Contractor shall perform all tests and inspections
recommended by the manufacturer unless specifically waived by the
Contracting Officer. The Contractor shall maintain a written record of
all tests which includes date, test performed, personnel involved,
devices tested, serial number and name of test equipment and test
results. All field test reports will be signed and dated by the
Contractor. 3.9.2.1 Safety: The Contractor shall provide and use safety
devices such as rubber gloves, protective barriers, and danger signs to
protect and warn personnel in the test vicinity. The Contractor shall
replace any devices or equipment which are damaged due to improper test
procedures or handling. 3.9.2.2 Cable Tests: The Contractor is
responsible for identifying all equipment and devices that could be
damaged by application of the test voltage and ensuring that they have
been properly disconnected prior to performing insulation resistance
testing. An insulation resistance test shall be performed on all low
and medium voltage cables after the cables are installed in their final
configuration and prior to energization. The test voltage shall be 500V
DC applied for one minute between each conductor and ground and between
all possible combinations of conductors. The minimum value of
resistance shall be: R in megohms = (rated voltage in kV + 1) x
304,800/length of cable in meters. (R in megohms = [rated voltage I kV
+1] x 1000/length of cable in feet. Each cable failing this test shall
be repaired or replaced. The repaired cable system shall then be re-
tested until failures have been eliminated. 2. THE SOLICITATION NUMBER
FOR SUBJECT REQUEST FOR QUOTE, MAINTENANCE STANDS IS CHANGED: FROM:
F07603-98-R6001 TO: F07603-98-Q0020 a. Please reference all future
documents to F07603-98-Q0020 as the revised solicitation number. 3. The
revised closing date for this Request for Quote is changed: From: 28
